Trafford 10K 2027

Terms and Conditions of Entry

By completing your entry to a Run North West (RNW) event, you are agreeing to these terms. We have kept them as short as we can. The box below covers what matters most on race day, and the rest explains the details.

The rules every runner must know

• Headphones that sit in, on or over your ears are banned. Anyone seen wearing them on the course will be disqualified. Bone conduction headphones are allowed, as long as they sit in front of your ears and leave your ears completely clear.
• No buggies or pushchairs at any event. Wheelchairs are welcome at the Wilmslow Festive 10K and Alderley Bypass only.
• Your race number is yours alone. Use the free transfer if you cannot run. Never swap numbers as this is against UKA rules.
• We do not offer refunds or deferrals if you withdraw.
• All events are licensed by England Athletics and run under UK Athletics rules, including UK Anti-Doping rules.
• Under 18s can only take part with the consent of a parent or guardian, given on the entry form.

1. Your entry

• Your place is confirmed once your payment is complete and you have received your confirmation email.
• You must meet the minimum age for your event on race day (15 for a 10K). We may ask for proof of age, and any entry below the minimum age will be cancelled.
• If you have entered with the affiliated club discount, your name and date of birth must match your England Athletics membership record.
• Before race day, please read your event page for registration, start and cut off times. Any changes will be published there at least one week before the event.

2. Runners under 18

For runners under 18, a parent or legal guardian accepts these terms on the entry form. In doing so, they confirm that:

• the runner is fit to take part and will follow these terms, including the headphones rule
• the runner may receive emergency first aid and medical treatment from our medical team if needed
• they will be contactable throughout race day
• they are responsible for the runner before and after the race and anywhere off the course, as RNW does not provide supervision
• The parent or guardian will also have chosen on the entry form whether identifiable photos or video of the runner may be used in our marketing.

3. Your health

• By entering, you are confirming that you are fit and healthy and have trained for the distance.
• Make sure your entry includes details of any relevant medical condition, and fill in the medical panel on the back of your race number when it arrives.
• You must follow the medical team’s instructions, including any instruction to stop.

4. Headphones and audio devices

• UK Athletics rules (Rule TR55 S5) ban any headphones that sit in, on or over the ear. This includes noise cancelling earbuds and open ear or clip on earbuds, even if the manufacturer calls them “bone conduction” or “air conduction”.
• Allowed: bone conduction headphones that sit in front of the ears and leave the ears completely clear.
• If you are seen wearing banned headphones: you will be disqualified and removed from the results, lose any prize, and your time will not count for rankings such as Power of 10. No refund will be given.

5. Anti-doping

• UK Anti-Doping Rules apply at every RNW event. You may be asked for a urine sample, a blood sample or both, before, during or after the race.
• Refusing or failing to give a sample without a compelling reason can count as an anti-doping rule violation in itself.
• Check your medication and supplements at www.globaldro.com. If you need a prohibited medication, you may need a Therapeutic Use Exemption.
• Under 18s may also be tested, with the right to be accompanied by a parent, guardian or other representative.

6. The legal bit

• You take part at your own risk, as far as the law allows.
• We are not responsible for lost or damaged belongings, including items in baggage areas or vehicles, unless caused by our negligence.
• Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory rights are not affected.
• We may refuse or cancel an entry if accepting it could harm the event, RNW, our sponsors, partners or staff, or the safety and enjoyment of anyone involved.

Photos, results and your data

• Photos and videos are taken throughout every event. RNW, our photographers, volunteers, sponsors, partners and the media may use them for marketing and promotion without further notice or payment.
• Official photos can be viewed and downloaded through our photography partner using your race number.
• Results, including your name, club, time and age category, will be published and may be shared with athletics governing bodies for insurance, licensing and rankings.
• Your medical information is only shared with the event medical provider and officials who need it to keep you safe. We may share other details with England Athletics, UK Athletics, our timing provider and UK Anti-Doping where needed to run the event or comply with rules or the law.
